    Pic of the Day Thread

It doesn't have to be your pic, but this is mine from a Silver Dollar City trip.
I just like the different textures on the ground.

    this one is for Kramor

    Gundam Game = sensory overload.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Each of those pods is networked and also features a headset speaker intercom system so you can talk with fellow players.
Completely baffling set of controls for the hands, feet , fingers and thumbs plus a mind-boggling collections of guns at your disposal, the interior screen gives a 180degree floor to ceiling view kind of like being in those Millenium Falcon gun turrets...
They even give you a print-out map of the playing arena and there are flat screens outside for people to see how badly you are playing the game.
    Sensory overload.
    Kyoto, Japan.

We went for the Australian beef.
Just amazingly delicious and worth visiting Kyoto just for this alone.

My offeriing for what has been a wet saturday in downtown Bangkok.

Taken during my trip to Japan last month, it is the river promenade in Kyoto city, a fine place to walk in the late afternoon and early evening, there are many fine restaurants lining the riverbank.

Jaytap, thanks for the pic...I can't stop looking at the buildings on the waterfront, and realise how much architecture and water differ across cultures. Don't see riverfronts like this in the UK or US

btw, please let me know your travel schedule in advance so I can bug you for more pictures!

More pics from your travels, please! Very Happy

That looks very apocalyptic, Jaytap! With those clouds of smog, lights in your face and the rain looking like sparks of some infernal machine.
Setting the mood for some live funk music??? Laughing

For a second I thought they were Beatles look-alikes!
But that's just me, I guess Laughing

A very nice picture - the colours are rather atmospheric!

    hi Y,

yes there is a little bit of that as they all wesar the same straight cut suits which are very Beatlesque, and a couple of them have mop hair cuts, but apart fromt hat they really are all about the funk and a real phenomenom too...

as for the club, it was a really pure live club music venue. small enough that you could hear the lead mans hand claps and some vocals without the mics and also with a top notch sound-system that was neither too loud nor distorted in any way... definately one of my favourite venues.
the crowd was good too, respectful and lively, this night was all about the funk.

and as it happens OM are scheduled to play the UK next month:
    Code:
    http://www.osakamonaurail.com/schedule/

here;s the MySpace page which is better:
    Code:
    http://www.myspace.com/osakamonaurail
i am tentatively thinking about scheduling a trip.

that Giant Gundam model that was until recently on display guarding the Tokyo skyline made a surprise visit to Bangkok this past weekend, well at least it's head and torso did! The arms and legs unfortunately didn't make it over which is a shame otherwise it would have been truly magnifico...
