    Subconscious Usage of Prince Lyrics

Post by CKJ505 on Tue May 31, 2016 8:59 am

I don't know much about you guys but I use Prince Lyrics during conversations practically everyday without even realizing it!

"Look at the bargains over here, ladies...!" (whilst shopping with people)

"Hundalasiliah!" (with a tone of excitement!)

"Serve it up, Frankie!" (while in a restaurant)

    cruise

I personally don't do it by accident, but rather slip a few lines in to see if anyone notices, or a lyric here or there to test my wife.

When I was a Teen I used to drive around town cruising and yell out (when I saw a nice looking Lady) "Ain't nobody like your body baby!"

Now when my Wife gets out of the car I say in a half singing voice "How can you just leave me standing, alone in a world that's so cold?"

Kids will always ask what's for dinner dad - "Starfish and coffee maple syrup and jam.......etc"
It's not Prince but I often tell my wife "Your lips would make a lollipop so happy"
Whenever I text my wife to call me while she's at work and she never calls - "How come you don't call me anymore?"
When I get dressed up and the wife says I look good "Don't hate me cuz I'm beautiful"
Also a gaurantee to spoil any chance of a moment is when we are both laying in bed getting ready to go to sleep and I start singing "Freaks on this side"

Bob George is big with me: Lots I use but my favorite that makes the wife laugh and call me... well not all there in the head.

Wife is getting dressed and asks "How do I look?" - "Why don't you put on that new wig I bought you... no no the redish brown one" "New Coat Huh?" "Who bought you that diamond ring?"

I also sings songs in a Prince key like....
"Time to take the dogs to the vet" - (Little Red Corvette)
When my kids were little "This is what it sounds like when kids cry" (When Doves Cry)

Sooooo many more but I'll stop there. Prince was, is , and always will be a BIG part of my everyday life. I'm also brainwashing my kids so they will continue the lessons Prince has taught us all about day to day life.

Well, if someone introduces themselves to me as 'My name is ...',I inevitably have to suppress the urge to add 'and I am funky'.
Except when I meet Maceo. Than I'd just say it outloud  afro

Thanks and do share. I should think really hard and write them all down as well. I'm sure there are even some I'm not even aware that I'm doing it.

Age comes to us all Embarassed and with it comes great wisdom
Rolling Eyes yeah, well I missed that lesson.

But one thing i have learned to do is make those satisfying groany dad-sounds when i get out of a chair or get a twinge in the old Brickscratch back.
It used to be just a small yelp to myself but last month I tore a muscle in my calf and it hurt like hell for a fortnight.
Each time it sent a sharp stab i found myself making the sound of the sassy latina lady in Partyman, no idea what she says but to me it sounds like,
    Eye,Ya Ya Ya yak y'away

    as exampled .. Here !

weird I know, but once i realised i was doing it (probably to avoid swearing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ) all i could think about was this thread - cheered me-up tho

"Yeah, i'm crazy, I'm retarded" (and does anyone care to guess where I stole that line from?) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Once, my pains began I too started vocalizing to relieve the stress. But, mine sounds more like a James Brown scream, to which my Wife replies 'Hit me two times'. I find it annoying, she finds it funny.
