Sounds Familiar : Field Music - The Noisy Days Are Over

Post by Brickscratch on Tue Dec 22, 2015 1:08 pm

I've been hearing this track for about a month now & expected to see another post about the similarity
     (unless I'd missed it)
But the similarity in the brass section near the end of the latest Field Music single, trumpet & sax are a shameless tribute to the man himself & Eric Leeds.
I would be surprised if you've not heard it yet as it appears to be on heavy rotation on BBC 6music & I've been an admirer of the Brewis Bros' distinctive beats for some time but Maybe it is new to your ears.

More specificly, from this point... https://youtu.be/7FGPDau_QwA?t=5m34s

It would appear that P himself had tweeted about the track & giving it his approval  Cool  Field Music retweeted adding "Life can be so nice"

    What an Awesome toon!

Slick bass track, catchy drum seq, nice harmonies, smooth jazzy brass!

I do like this one!  Repeat!!!

Thanks by the way! Very Happy

Cheers guys, glad that i brought something new to the table as I get so much from you [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I've noticed the forum filter has scrambled the link to a Guardian item. But not to worry, there wasn't really much there, here's the relevent..

Guardian wrote:The prince of funk has tweeted Field Music’s new single.
Last week, Prince did something a little unexpected. He tweeted a link to Field Music’s new single The Noisy Days Are Over (sadly, he has since deleted the tweet). If Prince’s admiration for the work of the Brewis brothers came as something of a surprise, then he can at least be assured the feeling is mutual – which is why David Brewis has picked Field Music’s five favourite Pr1nce songs, to return the compliment …

If you enjoyed this Field Music track you'd probably enjoy most of their music. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
