    Entropy MC Rules 3.0

This time around we are going to keep the rules simple !

    Disclaimer:
Discussion contents reflect the views of individual participants only. EntropyMC.com and its owner organizations bear no responsibility for accuracy of participant comments and will bear no legal liability for discussion results.

The following rules govern the discussion forums presented on EntropyMC.com. Please read carefully before participating. Your use of the discussion forums will constitute your agreement to comply with these rules:

     1. If you participate in a discussion, you are responsible for ensuring that any material you post to EntropyMC.com (text, images, or other multimedia content) does not violate or infringe upon the copyright, patent, trademark or any other personal or proprietary rights of any third party, and is posted with the permission of the owner of such rights.

      2. You agree not to use any obscene or offensive language or to place on EntropyMC.com any material that is libelous, abusive, or hateful, constitutes junk mail or unauthorized advertising, invades anyone's privacy, or encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any local, state, national, or international law or regulation. You agree to use the EntropyMC.com discussion forums only for lawful purposes.

      3. You agree to not promote, share or attempt to contact other members regarding websites or internet locations outside of EntropyMC.com unless given permission by an Admin.

      4. All discussion forum messages must contribute new ideas, and must not repeat previously posted material. When we say repeat, we mean by repeating a similar post elsewhere on EntropyMC.com which would make said post Spam

      5. All discussion forum topics must be created with proper case, and must not use all caps or special characters to draw attention. Use of proper English is recommended - See example of what not to do below
"How R U today ? Eye like people that know how 2 spell"

      6. To maintain a high quality content, discussion moderators may remove messages which stray from the topic or do not contribute new ideas.

      7. Discussion material on EntropyMC.com is for your personal use only. You may not in any way make commercial or other unauthorized use, by publication, re-transmission, distribution, or otherwise, of material obtained through EntropyMC.com, except as permitted by the Copyright Act or other law.

    8. Do not post anything that would directly come in conflict with the overall theme of our forum.
Such as images of violence or any sub-human act that would remove our label of being a family friendly website.

    9. The Admin's of EntropyMC.com have final say and will not stand to be questioned about the moderation tasks that they make.
Moreover, we are here to assist the forum and to keep it on topic if needed.

10.There will be no discussions of Holidays that promote pagan based celebrations. Such as Commercial Holiday, Halloween and Easter.
If you want to discuss such things do it elsewhere, let's keep our forum clean.

Anyone who violates these rules may have their access privileges removed without warning.
The rules are not limited to what is mentioned above and some things should not need to be pointed out-
example: you shouldn't run with scissors

Live by this simple rule> If this thought crosses your mind "Should I post this?" , then you probably shouldn't !

These rules may be modified from time to time by the EntropyMC.com Editorial Board.

    ------------------------------------------------------

Consider the following a guide to lead you as you become an Entropian

Members who don’t contribute should not be in your forum. This means users who only get angry at other users, cause problems, etc. Why keep them in a forum? Even if a forum is new, it’s not worth it to keep member in a forum just for their “posts”. The worst thing is having trolls take over your forum. It stops other members from using the forum.
You as a member are expected to post in areas other than those that contain the EMC Tags.
This is how you contribute to our Funky forum and you may consider this a form of payment.
Members who hangout only in the EMC PROTOCOL TAG areas of the forum will receive 1 warning before action is taken.

Bans are site-wide Except for extremely special circumstances, bans should be site-wide. This is something lots of forums don’t want to do but it hurts them. If you continue to violate the rules after receiving a warning you will be banned for a few days or longer if needed.
If you pose a threat , as in verbal abuse to other members then you will be removed and your IP address will be reported to our forum host, who does not mess around when it comes to serious matters.

No duplicate accounts This is one of the most annoying thing I see on other forums. Users who are banned and register again. It’s beyond me and makes no sense why a user will be allowed to make a new account after they are banned (There should also be no reason for someone to have 2 accounts). In some cases where a person has truly changed it is nice to let them back on the forum but openly giving most banned users “another chance” will make more problem users overall.
All IP addresses are kept as a record and if we need to, we can look it up and ban that address causing all fake accounts to become inactive.

Don’t allow members to flame others This is very important in our forum and should be important in any other forum as well. The rule in our forum is if someone doesn’t agree with something they should say something against the idea and not the member. For example someone could say “I don’t think Windows 8 will be x128″ instead of “You’re so stupid if you think Windows 8 will be x128.” Administrators should also set immediate banning grounds for racism and sexism. Members should not feel insulted by anyone, which leads onto the next point.

Have a good member environment Members should not feel pressured into something or insulted at any point in your forums. This is the #1 killer for members returning. Forums where a new member posts something and several members insult them for whatever reason makes a very bad impression. Members need to feel ok anywhere in your entire site. An example is our site being “Family Friendly”. The entire site is free of any vulgar language that could upset anyone. I personally don’t have much against it but I know how many more members will join (and how many teachers, professors, and tutors will recommend the site) if it is clean. This guideline at our site also keeps the site clean of a lot else that would cause problems. Vulgar language is the gateway to breaking rules and insults and you will get more happy members with it banned than allowing it for the few members.[u]
Our site is a family friendly one and we already have a great core of regular members here.
This is not a place just to get things- this is place to share things and become part of a global community. If you are not here to share something, then your stay here will be temporary.
Members who are active and post often or already have a high post count will receive special treatment as a reward for making Entropy Music Community better.
