    November 2010 Podcast, ft. Ymaginatif

Post by Ymaginatif on Wed Nov 24, 2010 5:50 am

Seeing that the month is already nearing its end, I made some haste to make this one available (itw as finished over a week ago, but I had troubles with mediafire and home internet-connection, which now seem to be sorted out):

One hour of meandering through Y's record collection ... and ending up in some rather odd corners sometimes At one point I was contemplating at making this a 'wtf podcast?', but I realised just in time that that might be a but too weird ...

    http://www.mediafire.com/?zjvr2s8wzcp7o7f

No overall theme - just songs I like, and which sound good when you play them loud. In hindsight, I might call it the "-already-knows-this-song-and-has-been-listening-to-that-band-long-before-you podcast" cheers

Thank you Y for sharing your podcast. Nice pieces of mini hamming thrown in there. There was a wonderful song near the end of the podcast. Female singer, you said it was beautiful track and I agree 100%.

Can you post the track listing please. I never would have thought you would be a fan of so many female artists.

I'd say 70% of my music-collection is by female singers, oddly enough.

Tracklist? - after 75 people have listened to my podcast rofl

Y, I enjoyed this on so many levels! I love how you are introducing music that is new to most of us (except scoop, of course) - all your female singers or Belgium music...thank you. You offer a vibe/sound that is all yours and very different from other folks' podcasts a similar vibe.

Loved how you used different vocal techniques throughout. Of course, loved the Alice Smith (track 3 for the next podcast?) and McCartney (is it a b side?) and the Belgium stuff, but it was your commercial that had me in stitches!! Too funny! It does sound like something you would hear on the radio or late night tv!

Loved the glimpses of upcoming collaborations, and the your 'hidden' track ('Make Noise?') at the end was great. Was that a rap in the middle

Thanks for listening Maceo! And I'm glad you enjoyed my random selection of songs - more pop than usual around here, but it must be my youthful spirit rofl

Glad you enjoyed the promotion bit! I spent more than one evening making that! Shocked

The McCatrney track is not a B-side. It's the album opener of 'Driving Rain' - quite a miserable feeling album, and a hidden gem in the McCartney opus.

The hidden track is a cover I'm afraid. Scoop will know who did the original Smile

    bump!

Anyone figured out what the hidden track is? I mean - who did the original?
A small cash-prize for the winner?
    No.

Now Maceo's is finished and Y's is rolling and the first track is
the cardigans losing a friend , personally I love the up tempo Losing My Favourite Game on the Playstation 2 Gran Turismo game.
it Would give me goosebumps everytime I played the game.

'Losing A Friend' is one of those deeply sad songs. And The Cardigans are excellent in painting the deep dark blue mood, especially in their two last albums.
(Do I have to say 'latest' or 'last'? Looks like they've more or less fallen apart now...)

The mood of 'Losing A Friend' ... it just bites. That loud, simplistic drum - as if it isn't even played by a drummer. It's special ...
And it's an emotion we all feel or fear from time to time ...
