I guess it's an Oscars moment again...but as Oscar Wilde said, the only thing worse than being talked about, is not being talked about, so this fits the latter pale

I should clarify my previous comment since it sounds as if I was saying it was not good (podcast)
Actually when listening to it, it had gotten late and it was time to turn the computer off.
So I've yet to give it a proper listen.

In case your missing that PB, maxim is saying that your show didn't hold his interest and he has forgotten most of it, kinda like been in an English Class doing poetry with a very boring teacher.

But let me tell you once again ...I liked it!

Well, I'll just try harder to engage people's interest more next time..

I've set a whole week aside for pod-casts-catching-up this week at work! cheers

The only trouble is, I've forgotten which one I've listened to already ...

Since PB fears not being talked about, I feel it is my duty, as descendant of Oscar, to rectify this injustice!

More than once, PB's podcasts have made me rush out to the worldwide library and check out a book. Most recently, Dana Fuchs is in my linen library bag. Even more outrageously: PB is the only podcaster so far who has managed to make me rush out to the shop and BUY a CD!!!! (Fredo Viola's album)!
That aside --- PB has developed his own ultra-cool, British stiff upper lip radio persona, softly rambling between the songs with a Peel-like self-evident tone to the information generously dealt out. It's a joy to have his always-a-bit-longer-than-other-people's selections!!

I shouldn't drink that much coffee in the morning!!! Shocked

I wonder: does Maceo like Fistful Of Mercy?
One of the few albums I deleted from my Ipod before finishing listening to it! The band has got one good singer, and two other singer who sing along in pub-fashion, creating an ugly clumsy vocal sound. Also, the songs are terribly simple, most of them consisting of one musical phrase repeated again and again. Brrr. Very bad.

That being said, after listening to the Maceo-podcast, this particular song grew on me, and I kind of like that (unashamedly Beatles-like) melody.

Almost the same week, James McCartney released his first EP. Have you heard that? Sounds very promising, with well-crafted and very well sung fairly simple pop-songs. But not directly a daddy-imitation (which is rare among Beatles-sons)

There we are: more Beatles-talk than you might have bargained for rofl

That song was included for our Beatles fans.

I got an advanced copy and only liked 2 songs, "In Vain or True" (the one used) and "Father's Son" - all the others were quite boring to be honest. I chose "In Vain or True" as they all sang together on it and I liked the "CSN/Beatle-like" harmonies. Father's Son was worth checking due to the obvious title relevance, and has a nice blues riff, but didn't like them each singing a verse as much as when they sang together on IVoT.

...and for a super group, I had never heard of the "Third Tenor" guy

    Glad you noticed
