    Great White: Great Zepplin

Post by maxim9691 on Tue Sep 14, 2010 2:29 pm

Since I'm also a Great White fan, to be more accurate a Fan of their Blues based albums such as "Hooked"
I had to get hold of this
    Review Quote-
One of the best tribute CD´s ever made, recorded live in Santa Ana,California at the Galaxy Concert Theatre and from an excellent quality. With Living Loving Maid, Ramble on, D´Yer Mak´er, Immigrant song,Stairway to heaven and many others. A couple of months ago this same CDis also released as a limited edition album packed in luxury black boxwith T-shirt.

    two fine choices there Maxim...
Encomium offers a plethora of artists drinking from the well of Zeppelin whilst Great White dive in, feet first and blast their way through a "greatest hits " set that Zeppelin never did.. the highlights for me were Hootie & the Blowfish doing a faithful rendering of the rarest of things, a non album track that most casual listeners wouldn't be aware of and Great wite stripping No Quarter back to a compact tour de force, leaving out the bloated keyboard solo, but leaving a great guitar solo... more zep than zep... both worthy CD's for inclusion in my virtual store and both live in the PB vault.

I agree with you 100% PB... wow that's probably a first [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I like the Great White CD much more than the Encomium Disc, E has a number of good tracks and also a number of bad ones.
Like I said I agree, Hootie and the Blowfish do have the best performance on this tribute plastic .
