    Great Pictures Maceo! cheers

I had my camera in my pocket all of the time - and never thought of taking it out ...

Disclaimer: I'm only half as mad as I look in those pictures!! give up

So ... no pictures or films from me, but I've got about an hour's worth of sound recordings!!! I haven't dared to listen to it yet, but soon I'll be posting big hits to be like the ultra funky 'Scoop Song' and ... er ... what else did we record? Lots of Maceo singing!

    Wales, Wales and Wales!

So lets begin in Liverpool! Laughing

No thats too late in the story....I shall begin in Ireland!

As some of you may be aware my car collapsed last week and that I had promised lifts to Maceo and Fkkscoop scoop to Wales from Liverpool.
There was only one solution, .................HIRE!

I cleared it with the ferry company about having a different vechicle to the one booked and they said "No problem". So I got in contact with Hertz and pointed out that I was going to be taking their car to Wales, They Said "No problem"

The only place to pick up the car from was Dublin Airport and the only way to get to the airport was by bus. I caught A bus from Virginia at 9:30 in the morning which brought me to the Airport at 11 and I knew I had plenty of time because my boat was at 14:30........but it turned out that I might not have it all covered.

I arrived at the desk and confirmed my booking and was ready yo roll until I handed over my credit-card......What could be wrong ?????
Well first off it is my wife's credit-card ( I don't trust the things and Tina doesn't trust me with the things) So I needed the card holder to sign the documents.......She was an hour and half away in Virginia , in bed after a hards night surveying (or if you like Hard Nights Work).

The Girl I was dealing with was quiet helpful and got in contact with her boss who said it would be OK if Tina sent up a scan of her Drivers License and a little note saying that I , her husband< her permission to use her Credit-card.

I rang Tina and she said "No problem"..........45 minutes later I rang her again!

She hadn't realised that they wouldn't give me the key until they had her e-mail, she had gone back to bed!!!!
Eventually I got the Key and I was off for the Ferry but in my getting used to a new car ( and it was a brand new Toyota Avensis 6 gear diesel with 6,700 km on the clock) I got lost for the first time on this journey ....not the last, but certainly the first. I got so confused I had to ring my mother to remind me where the port was !!!!! The last time I was there was 23 years ago.

But I got the boat... The Irish Ferries Fast Ferry called the Swift after Johnathon Swift.
    Wales here I come!

waw! This came soooo close to being a complete disaster!!!

Maybe it DID become a disaster? Let's continue reading this Laughing

PS Frosty, now that I saw you talking to the female hotel receptionist here in Aber, I'm sure you could talk your way into the Hertz girl giving you the keys to the car without your wife's signature Cool

Actually once I had the Key she followed me out into the car-park and apologized and said that she would have gave me the key except her manager was on the desks that day as well.

The song is called 'The Scoop Song', and features the one and only scoop on baby tambourine, Fostman adding some mean drumstickclicks, Maceo on blistering vocals and Ymaginatif keeping the funkbeat on acoustic guitar! It's a number one in 7 countries already, even before its release! Very Happy

As I settled into the boat I looked back on the preparation leading up to this meet up, and how nothing I had planned had come to pass.
Planned - road Trip Cdsssss - didn't happen
Planned - Camera and Camcorder - wife needed them for work - didn't happen
Planned - freedom of my own car (which I've broken into going pretty fast for an estate, possibly why it is in the garage now!!) - didn't happen
    Planned - Loss some weight - didn't happen (But I'll make a start tomorrow)(again)
Planned - presents for Entropy members (Well the Entropy T-Shirt design Maxim gave me last December) - didn't happen
Planned - presents for the daughters of Entropy members present - didn't happen

And I'm sure if I sat much longer I'd think of more but lucky it was a fast ferry and we docked in Holyhead.
I had my directions printed off from AA Route Planner and the plan was to buy a road map on the Boat of which they had plenty......for Ireland.
So I was down to reading instructions catching the car(rot)s in front of me and making my way to Tamworth for my first meet-up of the week-end.

In Tamworth lives an ex-member of Entropy with whom I'm still friendly with. My only hassle was a tool booth. It require £4 and I only had £3.50.
The kiosks were all un-manned and I felt stuck and stupid. Then from the main building walked the manager of theToll and she asked if I had a problem. I simple said " That I was straight off the boat" which was literary true as well as having the double meaning of been green behind the ears. She got the joke and we had a little talk for ...I'd say 10/15 minutes. She had no Irish blood as far as she knew but her surname was Irish and after a little bit of craic I carried on my journey...and I still had my £3.50.

I arrived in Tamworth and had a pleasant evening with SJ and BG. Thanks Guys.
I hit the hay at 4.30 knowing I had to be up at 8:00 so I set my alarm, but was up at 7:15 ready for a new day and a trip to Liverpool. Breakfast ate, Good byes said and I was off.

Post by Jfrost on Tue Sep 07, 2010 4:59 pm

I left Tamworth and used my nose and a clue or two from my AA Route Planer that I had printed out and began to make my way to Livepool.

I went to find the road to Liverpool so I was to look out for the M42 which lead to the M6 which would bring me to Liverpool. Well I found that M42 and took the North route which since I didn't have a map I presumed would bring me North to Liverpool. It didn't!!!
I realised this 20mls later when I hit the M1...time to back track....At speed , Maceo was waiting, up to this point I had been obeying the spped limits for fear of getting pulled over by the police...but I wasn't gonna let folks down at this stage!

I discover that a six speed Toyota Avensis Diesel can do 190km/hr affraid

But speed can work against you, I missed my shortcut on the M6 Toll (which is where I met Ms. Irish the night before) and plowed on and met the M6 proper....Proper slow full of traffic!

But I was back on track.

My printed instructions came in to use again but I needed to pee! (I know, I know, I fought the urge but......) I had to stop at a service station, Grab a coffee, a Dr. Pepper, a pack of red liquorice and a kick-ass bar of Chocolate. A Formula 1 driver would respect the pit-stop speed and I was away.

Straight in to Traffic, Motorway speeds down to 40 average..Nightmare!!
    Phone rings.
    "Hello"
"Hi Shaun it's me Bill, I'm in Liverpool at the train station, Fkkscoop is on his way out from the airport, how are you getting along???"
Darn! " Fine, Fine Although I've hit a little traffic...I'll be a little late, maybe half an hour or so"
"So you be here for ten past twelve"
"Best say closer to Twelve thirty"
    "Okay?.....................See you then"
    Feck feck feck!!!
But all wasn't lost for 5minutes later the traffic had started to spread a little....Time to weave through it.

Soon I found Junction 20A which brought me to M62 which brought me to Liverpool.....Next up find the train station.
    Ring-ring. Ring-ring!
" Hello Bill, Just looking for the station"
" Good your close, its in city centre"
    " right!!...Bye"

I saw a man walk on the street and asked for better directions, He spoke with the thickest Liverpudlian accent I had ever heard, not a word did I understand, although I did nod along with his directions, next I found a middle eastern man whom I did understand and not only did he direct me to the train station but better still to the car park that is part of the complex.

I was there in seconds flat...but the car park was full, some football match or something!

Saw a space.....noticed the double yellow lines, said Feck It. and parked and rang Maceo..."I'm here, Where are you?"
    "In the station"
"Well I'm outside on Lord Nelson Street"
    " Where?"

Then a couple of minutes they found me!
An American Man Hug (So gay if you ask me! Laughing ), A firm German handshake. A CDs and DVD gift from Fkkscoop, Photostaken, car loaded and away!!!

    Wales here I come!
