    Staycation soundtrack

Post by purpleblues1 on Wed Aug 25, 2010 10:33 am

This year, we are not off to Cornwall as in previous years so I've a nice 2 weeks away from work to catch up on all the CD's I've stockpiled ..
Today I popped into "Sound Machine" whilst Mrs PB was at the library...
I emerged £20 poorer but enriched by a pile of new CD's.
Amongst that pile were 2 by a Dutch guitar player called Julian Sas.
No, I'd never heard of him either, but I listened to half a track in the shop, sounded good, and the CD was issued on Provogue, a great blues label, so the deal was done.
I also picked up "The Dirty Dozen", George Thorogood's last CD, a Doyle Bramhall CD called "Fitchburg St" , A Blind Melon "best of" ,and a Lynyrd Skynyrd live CD.
So it's a Southern Blues sort of day, the rain has settled in here , ready for the Reading Festival at the weekend, so I'm sat here listening to my latest purchases,
I googled Julian Sas, found his website, and got sent to You tube where this lurked, waiting for me.
So scoop, here's a history of the blues in under 10 minutes.... enjoy rock blues bros
