'Movie Star' - this has always bothered me

Post by m823527 on Wed Jun 30, 2010 7:31 am

So, Movie Star is one of my all time favorite reads and I LOVE having the full version in stellar sound on the Box O' Chocolates.

    HOWEVER!

Towards the end, P enters into some dialogue with a woman, and it's clearly a woman's voice. But the last thing she says to him - Go to hades, boy! - is not her voice anymore, it's Prince's! What the hell happened there? Even after that you hear her say in her voice, "What's the biggest lake you've ever been in?"

I even thought that when Crystal Ball came out, that part would've been fixed (hell, half of the chapters were bastardized).

Has anything ever been written on this as to why he used him voice in that part?

The scene is, Prince (Morris Day's part) is at the club and he asks the bartender to buy something for everyone.
Then only to find out that they will not give him credit / run a tab then he says "go to hades boy" this directed at the bartender.
He is basically carrying on a number of conversations in the song

    Talking to date
    Narrator of events
    Talking to others

We all know prince's genius borderlines on crazy at times. He has too much going on in his head at one time. Laughing
Thus us normal folks have a hard time keeping up. Well minus Maxim who seems to be able to explain just about everything regarding P. Hmmm again another coincedence that cant be explained. scratch Perhaps I should start a thread about Maxim & his purple connections... a conspiracy theory that maxim might actually be Prince. rofl or a close relative cool2

I'm probably wrong Rolling Eyes (I usually am ) but I always thought the line was,
"Go At Ease Boy" - directed at the bouncers as they throw him out of the club.
